About Me
Mar 31st, 2008 by gingercreek
I serve as the Senior Pastor at Ginger Creek Community Church. I began serving Ginger Creek in July of 2004. I love this church community and enjoy living in the Chicagoland area. I used to like the winters until the last one when sometimes I had to snowblow three times in one day. Even so, growing up in the south I seldom saw snow and when it snows here, I feel like I’m a kid again.
I married my wife Sherryl in 1980. She grew up in Mississippi while I grew up in Georgia. We have three grown kids: Heather, Josh, and Tiffany. Two dogs round out our family.
I have a passion to see the church fulfill the great commission in innovative and creative ways while staying rooted in God’s Word.
I just finished the draft of my second book. Bethany House will publish it in May and it’s aimed at pastors and church leaders. It’s called Five Ministry Killers and How to Defeat Them (help for frustrated pastors). It’s based on original research I commissioned The Barna Group, Lifeway, and the NationalChristianPoll.com to do for the book. It’s scheduled to be available in May, 2010. I’m praying it will encourage many discouraged pastors.
